Terms and Conditions

Currently, we only ship our products to mainland UK and there will be an additional cost for any order to Scotland or Northern Ireland.

Shipping charges for your homeware orders will be calculated and displayed at checkout. Delivery delays can occasionally occur.

All furniture products are made to order according to the lead times specified on each product listing. Delivery times/costs and collections for furniture orders will be discussed with customers directly.

You will receive a Shipment Confirmation email once your order has shipped, containing your tracking number(s).

We ensure all our products are in perfect condition before shipment and/or collection, but please inspect your goods on arrival to ensure you are happy with the condition. If you accept the goods, and there is damage found afterwards, it will be difficult to assign liability to the delivery company.

If you receive your order damaged, please contact the shipment carrier to file a claim. Save all packaging materials and damaged goods before filing a claim.

If you wish to cancel your order, you must email info@rk-studio.co.uk within 24 hours of placing your order.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they are satisfied with the dimensions and product descriptions before placing an order. Please email us at info@rk-studio.co.uk if you have any additional questions about a product.

We will only process a refund or replace an item if it is defective or damaged. You must notify us of the defect or damage within 24 hours of receiving the item. Please send us photographs of the damage or defect to info@rk-studio.co.uk and we will do our best to assist. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Your item must be in the original packaging.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

For furniture items that are made to order (this will be clear on all product listings), we will be able to offer a full refund or an amendment to an order if the customer emails us at info@rk-studio.co.uk within 24 hours of placing their order. We will not be able to refund the customer if notification is made after this time period.

Made to order and bespoke freestanding furniture may only be returned for a refund or exchange in the unlikely event that the item is found to be faulty. Reasonable responsibility and care must be taken before and during the return to us, otherwise a reduction in value and, therefore, a reduction in refund amount may apply.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all measurements of the purchased product are checked to ensure suitable accessibility upon delivery. If delivery is not possible as a result of problems involving access that were not mentioned in writing at the time of order will not be refunded.

Our homeware and furniture products are handmade, and therefore each item is unique. Slight variations in colour, size, and design may occur, reflecting the individuality of each piece.

We use high quality, locally sourced hardwoods that have been dried to the correct moisture content. Sometimes warping may occur due to wood being a natural material affected by temperature and humidity. This is normal, but reasonable care should be taken to ensure the temperature and humidity around the product is suitable.

We take pride in the craftsmanship of our products. If you find any issues related to the construction of your product, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt, and we will be happy to assist you.

Many of our products are made from natural materials such as wood. As such, these items may have inherent variations and unique characteristics, including knots, grain patterns, and colour variations.

Proper care and maintenance are essential to preserve the quality of our natural material products. We recommend:

• Keeping wooden products away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

• Regularly applying appropriate wood care products to maintain finish and prevent drying or cracking.

• Cleaning with a damp cloth and avoiding harsh chemicals.

By engaging our services for bespoke fitted and freestanding furniture, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. These terms apply to all clients, prospective clients, and any users of our services. Please read them carefully.

DEFINTIONS

Client: The individual or entity engaging RK Studio for furniture design and creation.

RK Studio: The service provider, specialising in bespoke fitted and freestanding furniture.

Agreement: The contract between RK Studio and the Client, incorporating these Terms and Conditions.

SERVICES

RK Studio provides customised design and creation of fitted and freestanding furniture according to the specifications agreed upon with the Client. This includes initial consultation, design, material selection, production, and installation (if applicable).

CONSULTATION AND DESIGN

Initial Consultation: An initial consultation will be conducted to understand the Client’s requirements, preferences, and budget.

Design Proposal: Following the consultation, RK Studio will provide a design proposal. This includes design sketches, material suggestions, and an estimated timeline for completion.

Approval: The Client must approve the design proposal in writing before any production work begins. Any changes requested after approval may incur additional costs and affect the timeline.

PRICING AND PAYMENT

The pricing for services will be detailed in the design proposal. A deposit of 50% of the total project cost is required upon approval of the design proposal.

The remaining balance of 50% is due upon completion and before delivery/installation.

PRODUCTION AND DELIVERY

RK Studio will make every effort to meet the agreed-upon timeline. However, delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances. All furniture is handcrafted to the highest standards. Minor variations in colour, grain, or texture may occur due to the natural characteristics of materials. Delivery and installation dates will be scheduled in coordination with the Client. The Client must ensure clear access to the installation site.

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS

Any changes to the approved design or materials must be agreed upon in writing and may incur additional costs. The Client may cancel the project at any time. However, the Client may be liable for any costs incurred up to the point of cancellation.

WARRANTY AND LIABILITY

RK Studio warrants that all furniture will be free from defects in materials (as far as can be reasonably expected with natural materials and their active nature) and workmanship for a period of 12-months from the date of installation. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, or unauthorised modifications, including but not limited to damage caused by the weather, and damage caused by shrinkage or expansion of natural materials due to changes in temperature or humidity. RK Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the Work. The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless RK Studio from any claims or damages arising from the Client's breach of this Agreement.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

RK Studio retains all intellectual property rights to the designs, drawings, and materials provided during the course of the project. The Client is granted a non-exclusive license to use these materials for personal use only.

PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY

RK Studio respects the privacy of its Clients. Personal information will be used solely for the purposes of providing services and will not be shared with third parties without the Client’s consent. Read more about our privacy policy.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or related to this Agreement will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
